Thriller is the sixth studio album, Yankee artist Michael Jackson. The album was released thirty years in November, 1982 by Classic Records as monitoring Jackson's critically and commercially successful 1979 album Off the Wall. Thriller explores similar genres to Off the Wall, including funk, disco, soul, soft rock, U.S. $ recording sessions took place between April and November 1982 at Westlake Recording Residences in Los Angeles, California. Following the launch of the first single, "The Girl Is Mine", some observers assumed Thriller would only be a minor hit record. At its top, the album was selling a million copies worldwide per week. 7 of 9 songs from the album were released as singles, and all reached the 10 on the Billboard hot one hundred. The album won a Thriller cemented Jackson's record stood by Jackson as one of the predominant pop stars of the late 20th century and allowed him to break down racial barriers through their appearances on MTV and in meetings with President Ronald Reagan in office. In 2001 a special edition issue of the album was released, which has extra interviews audio, demo recording and the song "Someone in the Dark", which won a Grammy track of ET The Extra-Terrestrial storybook. [9] In 2008, the album was reissued again as Thriller 25, containing re-mixes featuring artists date, a previously unreleased song and a DVD.

Thriller ranked number twenty, 5 Rolling Stone Mag Hundred Best Albums of All Time list in 2003, and was listed by the National Association of marketing and negotiation of recording at number three in 2 hundred CDs never conclusive. Thriller was saved by the Library of Congress National Recording Registry, as was deemed "culturally significant".
