As I was watching a television network '2008 Results of election coverage last night, the announcement was released, projecting "Barack Elect Obama as our President. "After hearing that the projection, all he could say was" Thank you Jesus! "
This choice has been one of the most historic events happened in my life. The election of the first African American president was a historic day not only for the African Americans, but for all Americans. While I was watching the election coverage, I noticed the overwhelming tears of joy on the faces of people around the world and they were very happy, dancing and chanting "Yes We Can".
In my opinion, the most distinctive of my observation, was older African American men and women, with tears in their faces, singing and joy the conduct of the election of our 44th president, Barack Obama. Perhaps, as her tears flowed, is reflected in the early years of his life when discrimination and Jim Crow laws were common. Although the choice of a president United States of Africa will not remove the discriminatory practices of our past and present, it is clear that sends a strong message that we as Americans have gone a step further to eradicate the evils of our past.
Now hopefully we can all move forward as a nation and work together in harmony, to make this a great nation for our children and future generations to come. This historic event has placed us on the world stage and we will be judged by our actions in the days and weeks ahead. Therefore, it is imperative to show the world that we are united as one. Finally, "May God continue to bless this Member USA. "
